Rafaela Mori is a Brazilian-born artist based in Australia, exploring the emotional and psychological landscapes shaped by place, notions of belonging, and the construction of identity in transit. Her artistic practice is rooted in her experience of migration, a continuous negotiation between worlds, cultures, and ways of being.
Through botanical forms native to the regions she has inhabited, combined with imagined elements of her own creation, she develops compositions that occupy a cultural in-between territory, where identity is not fixed but constantly redefined. These works embody a state of hybridity, in which invented fruits and plants serve as visual metaphors for the layered experiences of living between cultures.
